Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, announced plans to introduce three robotaxi models in 2026 and start trial operations for the service. The company's chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, revealed these details during the 2025 AI Day event in Guangzhou.

Each robotaxi will be equipped with four of Xpeng's in-house developed Turing AI chips, offering computing power of up to 3,000 TOPS.

The vehicles will have external interaction features allowing pedestrians to understand the robotaxis’ intentions, such as turning or parking, by viewing actions through the windshield.

Collaboration and Ecosystem Development

Xpeng intends to release its robotaxi SDK (Software Development Kit) to foster collaboration with global partners and develop a comprehensive robotaxi ecosystem.
