On November 3, 2025, the first seven new Škoda ForCity Plus 52T trams began operation in Prague. The Prague Public Transit Company (Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy, DPP) deployed these trams on various routes of Line 12, which connects Lehovec and Sídliště Barrandov.
These initial seven trams make up about one third of the vehicles currently running on Line 12. Over the next weeks and continuing through the end of the year, DPP plans to gradually introduce more Škoda 52T trams, ultimately increasing the fleet to 20 vehicles. These trams will also serve additional routes managed from the Hloubětín depot.
“The new trams are equipped with an electromechanical brake system which ensures quieter operation, lower maintenance requirements and greater braking precision.”
“In addition, the vehicles are equipped with an anti-collision system with the LiDAR technology.”
Author's summary: The introduction of Škoda ForCity Plus 52T trams enhances Prague's public transit with modern features, increased capacity, and improved safety on multiple routes.
