The Goulburn Valley Football Umpires Association (GVFUA) held its 2025 awards night on Friday, September 26.
Jack Norris received the association's highest honor, the Ian Coates Memorial Award.
Jack began with GVFUA in 2014, initially running the boundary for two years before moving into field umpiring.
GVFUA officiates matches in the Kyabram District Football Netball League, Murray Football Netball League, and Goulburn Valley Football Netball League.
Jack has umpired over 221 senior games, including two senior interleague matches and four senior grand finals—one in Kyabram & District, one in Murray, and two in Goulburn Valley.
“Being recognised with such a prestigious award is incredibly humbling and something that I will be forever honoured by,” said Jack.
“Of course, this recognition is not just about personal success and achievements, it is also the people behind the scenes who have helped me, mentored me and supported me during my time umpiring with the Goulburn Valley Football Umpires Association.”
Jack shows no intention of stepping away from officiating the sport he loves.
Jack Norris was honored with the Ian Coates Memorial Award after a dedicated umpiring career spanning more than 220 senior games across multiple leagues in the Goulburn Valley region.
