NEPAD-IPPF Celebrates 20 Years at 40th Oversight Committee Meeting

The NEPAD-Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF), a multi-donor special fund hosted by the African Development Bank, held its 40th Oversight Committee Meeting to review progress and outline new goals for Africa's regional infrastructure development.

The online meeting took place on 27th October 2025 and included donor representatives, partner institutions, Regional Economic Communities, and implementing agencies. It also marked the 20th anniversary of NEPAD-IPPF, highlighting two decades of partnership, knowledge exchange, and impact in promoting Africa’s regional connectivity.

NEPAD-IPPF’s Achievements

Since its start, NEPAD-IPPF has backed 113 regional projects in sectors such as energy, transport, ICT, and water. It has invested over USD 124 million in project preparation and helped mobilize more than USD 13 billion in subsequent investments.

“It was a moment to celebrate enduring collaboration and renewed ambition,” said Mike Salawou, Director of Infrastructure and Urban Development Department at the African Development Bank.
