Škoda ForCity Plus 52T Trams Start Passenger Service in Prague
Škoda has officially launched passenger operations of the first seven ForCity Plus 52T trams in Prague. These trams were custom-built at the Škoda Group factory in Plzeň specifically for the city's transport needs.
Delivery and Production Details
- An initial order of 20 units was placed by the Prague Public Transport Company (DPP).
- So far, 13 trams have been delivered, with the remaining expected by the end of 2025.
- Under a framework agreement, Škoda can supply up to 200 trams.
- Another 20 trams are planned for delivery in 2026.
- DPP holds an option to purchase up to 140 additional units.
Certification and Testing
The trams completed type approval and homologation last month, successfully passing all technical inspections. They covered the mandatory 20,000 kilometres, both with and without passengers.

- The framework agreement between Škoda Group and DPP was signed in December 2023.
- The trams were publicly unveiled in January 2024.
- Production of the first units was completed in early 2025.
