Calgary's poppy campaign underway supporting veterans before Remembrance Day

Calgary's Poppy Campaign Supports Veterans Ahead of Remembrance Day

Poppies and related merchandise to support veterans are available in stores, legions, and online, including through the Royal Canadian Legion's Amazon store. The products include lapel pins, magnets, and poppy flowers, sold in honour of Remembrance Day on November 11.

“The Poppy Campaign is the legion’s most significant fundraising effort, with 100 per cent of proceeds going directly to support Canada’s veterans and their families,” a news release from the legion stated on Friday.

For the second consecutive year, the Royal Canadian Legion has operated an Amazon store to facilitate sales of these items. The campaign began Friday and will continue until Remembrance Day.

Albertans can acquire pins either from the Legion’s online poppy store or by making a donation at traditional poppy boxes located in various outlets across the province, including TD banks.
