One year after Coalition Capital, led by Fayza Lamari and her son Kylian Mbappé, took over SM Caen, the Normandy club is experiencing a serious crisis. On Wednesday, the club announced the dismissal of 16 employees as a harsh but necessary step to ensure financial survival.
The layoffs affected staff from the administrative, marketing, and commercial departments. Following this restructuring, SM Caen now employs 68 people. The club currently sits 10th in the French third division, having achieved only three wins so far this season.
