Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November

On Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025, several bus routes will experience temporary changes due to parades and road closures across the county. Other brief disruptions to services may also occur.

Two Minutes Silence at 11 AM

At 11am on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th November, bus drivers will observe the two minutes silence. When it is safe, they will park their buses, turn off engines, and invite passengers to join the national remembrance.

Free Travel for Service Personnel

NCT offers free travel for all serving personnel, cadets, and veterans from 8th to 11th November inclusive. Passengers must show appropriate identification or be in uniform when boarding.

Road Closures and Route Diversions on 9th November

Nottingham Road, Church Drive, Sir John Robinson Way: Closed from 09:00 to 12:00; Lilac 25 and Lime 58 buses will be diverted.
Skipped stops on these routes: Charles Street, Sainsbury’s, Portland Street, Daybrook Square, Thackeray’s Lane, Calstock Road. Buses will serve all stops on the diversion route.

Calverton Parade Impact

Sky Blue 61 route affected from 09:00 to 12:00.
Stops not served: St Wilfrid’s Square, St Wilfrid’s Church, Oakland Grove.

East Leake Road Closure

Main Street in East Leake will be closed from 10:30 to 11:45.
South Notts 1 bus diverted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road.

"At 11am (on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th), bus drivers will observe the 2 minutes silence and will, where safe to do so, park their buses and turn off their engines and the company invites you to join them in national remembrance."
