On Thursday, stocks on Athinon Avenue declined as traders showed limited interest despite the release of corporate results. The atmosphere remained volatile, affecting investor momentum.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,998.38 points, down 0.80% from Wednesday’s 2,014.47 points. The large-cap FTSE-25 index slipped by 0.79% to 5,042.06 points, while mid-cap stocks gained a slight 0.10%.
The exclusion of Metlen from the MSCI Standard Greece index, due to its transfer to the London Stock Exchange, and the addition of Cenergy Holdings and Viohalco to the MSCI small-cap index, dominated the trading day.
In total, 41 stocks gained, 61 declined, and 21 remained unchanged. Turnover reached 281.2 million euros, higher than Wednesday’s 198.5 million euros.
In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange slipped 0.13% to close at 280.45 points.
