Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Extradited for Attempted Murder Trial

Former NFL player and Super Bowl champion Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to the United States to face an attempted murder charge related to a shooting in Miami in May, according to the Miami Police Department.

Authorities stated that the department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit and Felony Apprehension Team collaborated with prosecutors and U.S. Marshals to obtain an arrest warrant. Brown was located and detained in Dubai before being transferred back to the U.S.

“Brown has since been extradited to Essex County (New Jersey) by U.S. Marshals, where he is currently being held pending his extradition to the Miami-Dade County Jail,” the police department confirmed.

The June arrest warrant indicated that several witnesses saw Brown open fire after a physical altercation with another man during an amateur boxing event in Miami on May 16. The document also stated that Brown had reportedly taken the weapon from a security guard.

An off-duty police officer providing event security detained Brown before additional law enforcement arrived at the scene.
