Here’s what you need to know about spotting the Aurora Australis from Victoria tonight.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre (ASWFC) issued an Aurora alert, forecasting potential activity over the next two days.
"Two coronal mass ejections are expected to impact the Earth within the next 48 hours, possibly resulting in significant geomagnetic activity and visible auroras during local nighttime hours."
The Aurora Australis was last observed on November 8 and 9 in parts of southern Australia. When the ASWFC issued a similar alert earlier this month, sightings were reported near midnight in Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia, and NSW.
The further south you are, the better your chances of seeing this spectacular natural light display.
