Three inmates, including Mark Fellows, have been charged with the murder of convicted child killer Kyle Bevan, who was found dead in his cell at HMP Wakefield in Yorkshire on Wednesday morning.
Kyle Bevan, aged 33, had been serving a life sentence for killing his partner’s two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in 2020. He was ordered to serve a minimum of 28 years after causing catastrophic head injuries to the toddler during a prolonged and violent assault.
Emergency services were called to the Category A prison at 8:25 a.m., where Bevan was discovered deceased. Following the incident, three men were formally charged in connection with his death.
“Detectives have charged three men with murder after the death of a prisoner at HMP Wakefield on Wednesday, November 5,” said a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police.
“Mark Fellows, aged 45, Lee Newell, aged 56, and David Taylor, aged 63, all white British inmates at HMP Wakefield, have been charged with murder. They have been remanded into custody and are due to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday.”
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the charges and noted that all three suspects remain in custody pending court proceedings.
