The Mayor of Rushcliffe, Cllr John Cottee, has invited the community to join him and local dignitaries in a two-minute silence on Tuesday, 11 November, to mark Armistice Day.
The event will take place on Central Avenue in West Bridgford, beginning shortly before 11am. A bugler will play The Last Post on the hour, followed by the two-minute reflection.
“Each year, it is vital we honour our Armed Forces and their families, remembering all made the ultimate sacrifice, not only in World Wars 1 and 2 but sadly in more recent conflicts.”
“As we approach Armistice Day, I invite everyone to join us for the two minute silence in West Bridgford for this moment of reflection and remembrance for those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.”
“All are welcome to attend, please arrive in good time ahead of 11am.”
