Visitors to the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum in Szentendre, near Budapest, can enjoy a weekend filled with artisan wines, special goose dishes, children's activities, concerts, and stage performances during the St. Martin’s New Wine and Goose Festival.
The festival celebrates St. Martin’s Day traditions combined with new wine tasting, blending folk customs, gastronomy, and cultural events.
Visitors can learn about the origins of the goose cult and experience traditional peasant activities such as feather plucking and corn grinding.
Kids can create straw geese, bird feeders, autumn-themed earrings, acorn chains, rag dolls, and even lanterns to join the St. Martin’s Day parade at the end of the day.
On the Skanzen Vigadó stage, the audience will enjoy performances by traveling musician László Gulyás, storyteller Szende Csernik, and bands including Martones, BashElan, Magos, and Erdőfű Zenekar.
The museum’s gates and houses will remain open until 4 p.m. during the event.
The festival "combines folk traditions, gastronomy and cultural programs," the organizers emphasized.
