Dodgers Pitcher Alex Vesia and Wife Kayla Announce Stillbirth of Their First Baby
Alex Vesia, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his wife Kayla shared heartbreaking news on November 7. Their daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, was stillborn.
"There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her."
Posting on Instagram, the couple expressed their grief and love for their daughter:
"Our little angel. We love you forever & you’re with us always."
Sterling passed away on Sunday, October 27. The Vesias thanked the Dodgers organization and their extended baseball family for their support following the Dodgers' World Series win against the Toronto Blue Jays on November 4.
"Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them."
They also expressed gratitude to fans and medical professionals:
