Goodwill store in Slidell opens in new, bigger location after Joann Fabric closes

Goodwill Store Opens in Larger Slidell Location

Earlier this year, three Joann stores across metro New Orleans closed after the company filed for bankruptcy. The Goodwill store in Slidell has now relocated to the former Joann Fabric and Crafts space at Gause and Northshore boulevards, opening Thursday.

New Location and Benefits

Goodwill's move to the Village of North Shore Mall shopping area fills the vacancy left by the Joann closures. The new Slidell store offers more retail space and easier access compared to its previous location at 184 Gause Blvd.

"This new store isn’t just a bigger building — it’s a bigger opportunity,” said Jodee Daroca, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. "Every donation and every purchase helps fund programs that give people a second chance."
