Hayley Williams shares cryptic new single 'Showbiz'

Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has released the 20th and final track from her third solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The song, titled ‘Showbiz’, explores the uneasy side of fame and life under the spotlight.

The album’s unusual release cycle included seventeen tracks shared freely online before the full project was completed. With the release of 'Showbiz' on November 7th, Williams has now finalized the complete 20-track collection.

Despite rumors that the album marks the end of Paramore, Williams clarified that the trio is simply “on a break.”

“May never happen again / Stings like sweat on broken skin / And it’s never enough / Tastes like the whole ocean / Exit stage left / What might be the end / Showbiz, showbiz.”

Though the lyrics seem to reference closure or an ending, Williams has not confirmed what specifically is over. In the previous single, ‘Good Ol’ Days,’ she affectionately referred to herself as “Miss Paramore,” reminding fans of her enduring bond with the band she founded at fifteen.

Williams also recently acknowledged feeling “blamed for all the shit” that surrounded the group’s breaks, reflecting on past creative and personal challenges. The new track hints at both artistic evolution and emotional reckoning.

Author’s Summary

Hayley Williams closes her third solo album with ‘Showbiz,’ a reflective piece blending fame’s tension, self-awareness, and the uncertain fate of Paramore.
