The ministry expressed deep regret over Pyongyang's denunciation of the South Korea-U.S. joint military exercises held from November 3 to 7 and the recent defense chiefs meeting. It demanded that North Korea "immediately halt" all activities that increase tensions between the two countries.
South Korean military sources reported that North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the sea off its east coast on Friday.
USFK acknowledged the missile launch and affirmed its commitment to defend allies. They stated:
