It captures emotional highs with influences from 2-step and jungle, combined with melodic elements of broken beat and dubstep, all inspired by club soundsystems and pirate radio.

“The title ‘Tribute’ reflects my connection to an era of UK dance music I never experienced first-hand, but that continues to inspire me,” Bakey states, “Late ’90s to early ’00s pirate radio, raves, club nights and soundsystem scenes.”

Mura Masa has unveiled a new four-track EP, Curve+1, on his own label Pond Recordings. This release follows last year’s Curve 1. The lead track, “Handsup,” debuted earlier this month with a visualizer that highlights the intimacy of the dancefloor and its pulsating rhythms.
