Wicked's musical special, described as a "once-in-a-lifetime" event, is now available in the UK. The two-hour show, Wicked: One Wonderful Night, airs Saturday at 8pm on Sky Showcase but can be streamed immediately on Sky and NOW.
The special features cast reunions with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as leads Elphaba and Glinda. Other stars include Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible), Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard of Oz), Ethan Slater (Boq), Bowen Yang (Pfannee), and Marissa Bode (Nessarose).
Also appearing are director Jon M Chu and composer Stephen Schwartz, alongside "surprise guests."
Filmed at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre, the show promises "electrifying performances" with musical and dance numbers, backed by a 37-piece live orchestra.
Fans have been promised "an unforgettable night of reimagined musical arrangements, cast interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, exclusive surprises and maybe even a sneak peek at what’s to come in the next chapter of Oz."
This special precedes the second and final movie chapter, Wicked: For Good, which is already receiving high praise from critics.
