The GSOC Tahoe Final brings together teams from Canada, Switzerland, and Scotland for the season’s closing Grand Slam of Curling event this Sunday. After an intense week of competition, the championship wraps up one of the sport’s most anticipated tournaments.
This year marks a significant shift in the curling calendar: there will be no National tournament for the 2025–26 season. Instead, the GSOC Tahoe Final serves as its replacement. The original National event began in 2002 for men and expanded in 2015 to include women’s teams.
Last year, Bruce Mouat of Scotland captured the men’s title, while Rachel Homan from Ontario, Canada, claimed the women’s championship held in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The 2025 event is particularly notable as it becomes the first major GSOC competition ever hosted outside Canada.
The GSOC Tahoe Final is set in Stateline, Nevada, on the southeastern side of Lake Tahoe. The matchup headlines include a men’s final featuring Team Matt Dunstone of Canada against Team Bruce Mouat of Scotland, and a women’s final between Team Rachel Homan of Canada and Team Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland.
“This is the first major GSOC event held outside of Canada.”
The GSOC Tahoe Final crowns the curling season with top teams from Canada, Scotland, and Switzerland, marking a historic first appearance outside Canadian soil.
