The Unrivaled season will kick off on January 5, with some games taking place in Philadelphia on January 1. For the second time this year, the first pick in the Unrivaled draft went to The Breeze, one of two new teams joining the 3-on-3 league that plays in Miami during winter.
The other new team, The Hive, had the No. 2 pick and selected Kelsey Mitchell. Players were divided into six position-based pods of guards, wings, and forwards across six rounds, with picks alternating among the eight teams.
Last season's four playoff teams—Rose, Lunar Owls, Vinyl, and Laces—were allowed to protect two players from their rosters, preventing them from being drafted by expansion teams. The Phantom and Mist, who missed the playoffs, could each protect one player.
“The Breeze is one of two new clubs for the 3-on-3 league that plays in Miami in the winter.”
“The league let the four playoff teams from last season protect two players from their rosters who couldn't be drafted by one of the expansion teams.”
Paige Bueckers leads the new Breeze team, shining as a top pick in both Unrivaled and WNBA drafts, marking a promising start to the 3-on-3 basketball season.
