Tom Cruise shared on Instagram on Thursday, November 6, that he attended a screening of Glen Powell’s new film “The Running Man.” The actor enthusiastically praised his “Top Gun: Maverick” costar’s latest project and posed for photos with the film’s cast and director.
After working together on the 2022 blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick,” Cruise and Powell have maintained a close friendship. During the recent screening, the “Mission: Impossible” star, 63, joined Powell, 37, and the rest of the team to celebrate the film’s release.
In one picture, the two actors smiled while holding matching popcorn boxes featuring artwork from the film, with Cruise’s hand resting on Powell’s shoulder. Another photo captured Cruise alongside other cast members — Coleman Domingo, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones — and director Edgar Wright, all holding their popcorn buckets and posing inside the theater.
“Another great night out with my friends at the movies! You guys crushed it, congratulations! I laughed, was on the edge of my seat and ate way too much popcorn,”
Cruise wrote in his Instagram caption, expressing his admiration for the film and his enjoyment of the evening. His show of support continued a pattern, as he previously attended the London premiere of Powell’s film “Twisters” in July 2024.
