Harrison Bader is among the premier outfield free agents this offseason. After arguably the best season of his career, he is projected as the third-best outfield free agent by 2025 fWAR, tied with Trent Grisham at 3.2 fWAR. Only Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker finished with higher fWAR totals.
Bader recently signed a one-year, $6.25 million deal with the Minnesota Twins and concluded the year with the Philadelphia Phillies following a trade at the deadline. His 2025 season saw career highs in several offensive categories, including home runs, RBIs, batting average, on-base percentage, and wRC+.
His performance improved significantly after joining the Phillies, where he hit .305 with a 129 wRC+ during the latter part of the season.
Bader’s defensive skills remain a strong suit despite being over 30 years old. He played all three outfield positions and demonstrated excellent range in center field. In 2025, he ranked seventh among qualified outfielders with +13 defensive runs saved and also placed 13th with +6 outs above average.
"Whoever signs Bader is going to get a solid bat as well as an excellent defender, making him a desirable target for organizations across MLB this winter."
Harrison Bader’s combination of improved offense and strong defense positions him as a highly sought-after free agent in the 2025 MLB offseason.
Author's note: Bader’s 2025 season cemented his value with notable all-around contributions, especially after his midseason trade to the Phillies.
