The Winnipeg Jets may reunite Brayden Schenn with his brother Luke by acquiring the veteran forward from the St. Louis Blues. This move could boost the Jets’ scoring depth and relieve pressure on their top line.
Winnipeg is currently facing offensive difficulties, with limited production from their depth forwards. Over the last three games, they have scored only two goals. So far this season, 23 of their 47 goals have come exclusively from their top line consisting of Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor, and Gabe Vilardi.
The Jets could target Brayden Schenn, a former 70-point player from a team currently performing poorly. The St. Louis Blues have started the season with a 5-8-3 record and possess the league's worst defense, allowing 62 goals.
Blues GM Doug Armstrong is reportedly considering trading players to focus on the future, with Schenn's name frequently mentioned.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on his podcast 32 Thoughts: "Armstrong will need a reason to depart with their captain."
Such a trade could help the Jets address their scoring issues while providing the Blues an opportunity to rebuild.
The Winnipeg Jets may acquire Brayden Schenn to strengthen their offense and reunite him with his brother Luke, addressing scoring challenges stemming from limited depth production.
