The Winnipeg Jets are looking to break a season-worst three-game losing streak as they continue their road trip against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. The team began a six-game road swing with three consecutive losses, a stark contrast to their strong start where they only suffered three defeats in the first twelve games of the season.
Last season, the Jets clinched the Presidents’ Trophy as the top regular-season team, but their current performance shows challenges. Their recent journey through California ended with a discouraging 4-1 defeat against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Though Anaheim entered this game on a seven-game winning streak, securing the top spot in the Pacific Division, Winnipeg was the fresher team, having had rest before the match, while Anaheim played just the night before in Las Vegas.
“We wanted to get on them early and we just didn’t do it,” said forward Cole Perfetti. “We just didn’t execute properly. We’re just not playing our style the way we can.”
The Jets are facing offensive struggles, managing only two goals in their last three games. Even more concerning is their defensive play, which has historically been a strength but is currently faltering.
The Winnipeg Jets are battling to end a troubling losing streak amid offensive and defensive challenges, striving to regain the form that made them last season’s top regular-season team.
