Lionsgate has released the first teaser trailer for Michael, the highly anticipated biopic about the legendary artist Michael Jackson. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, known for his work on Bohemian Rhapsody.
Described as a cinematic exploration of the life and legacy of one of the world’s most influential performers, Michael delves beyond Jackson’s groundbreaking music career. It traces his path from his beginnings as the lead singer of The Jackson Five to his transformation into a visionary global superstar whose creative drive reshaped pop culture.
“This is where his story begins.”
The film promises to portray both Jackson’s private life and some of his most memorable moments on stage, revisiting his early solo performances and personal milestones.
Production underwent a brief reshoot period in June to refine parts of the third act. The movie features Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew, Jafaar Jackson, in the lead role, alongside Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate, and Derek Luke. The screenplay was written by John Logan.
Release date: April 24.
