The Zagreb Film Festival wraps another rich and successful edition of its industry programme

On 21/11/2025, master classes, workshops, presentations, round-tables and a pitching forum highlighted the Zagreb Film Festival’s industry section. The 14th edition of the festival’s industry programme (10-16 November) drew film and audiovisual professionals and enthusiasts to a series of events, many of which followed tradition. The backbone of the industry programme remained the master classes and workshops, while the Industry Youth! Pitching Forum and the Trailer-editing Workshop added competitive energy to the proceedings. Three master classes were led by notable guests of the 24th Zagreb Film Festival: Bosnian-Croatian filmmaker Una Gunjak—who also served as a main competition jury member—led a session on working with children and non-professional actors. Serbian-Romanian filmmaker Ivana Mladenović conducted a master class on autofiction. Finally, Greek editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis presented a session titled “Splicing into Strange Worlds,” focusing on his collaborations with Yorgos Lanthimos and other Greek Weird Wave auteurs. My First Screenplay was once again the festival’s most prominent workshop among those offered.

“The master classes and workshops served as the backbone of the industry programme once again, while the Industry Youth! Pitching Forum and the Trailer-editing Workshop added some competitive ‘heat’ to proceedings.”

Author’s summary: The Zagreb Film Festival’s industry segment showcased a robust lineup of master classes, workshops, and forums led by renowned filmmakers, reinforcing its role as a premier meeting point for regional industry professionals.
