Qatar Airways has launched a new initiative called 'Qatar Airways United', aimed at reducing carbon emissions from its operations. The airline plans to achieve this by implementing more fuel-efficient aircraft and reducing flight distances.
“We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable aviation industry,” said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive.
The airline has set a goal of reducing its carbon emissions by 20% by 2025, and plans to achieve this through a combination of fleet renewal, operational efficiency, and alternative fuel initiatives.
Qatar Airways has also committed to offsetting its carbon emissions from flights by investing in renewable energy projects and reforestation programs.
“Our goal is to be a leader in the aviation industry when it comes to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment,” said Al Baker.
“We will be investing in new technologies and alternative fuels to reduce our carbon emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future for aviation.”
