British actress Kate Winslet got a temporary tattoo of a harp on her back for a film role back in 2011.
The star of 'Titanic' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' has a history of getting into character, but even she didn't think she'd be going this far.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Kate said:
“I was on set and they said, 'Can you get a major tattoo?' and I said, 'Oh, sure, no problem.'…I mean, I've had tattoos before, but nothing like that.…It was quite a surprise.…But it was fine. I'm not one of those people who gets anxious about things like that.…I was just, 'Okay, let's do it.'…It was just a bit of fun, really.…And then it was gone, really.…
As for what she thought when she first saw the tattoo, Kate said:
…I thought it was quite funny, actually.…I mean, I've got a lot of tattoos and I've had a lot of piercings, but this was different.…It was like, 'Wow, this is quite a statement, isn't it?'…But, you know, it was just a bit of fun, really.…
It sounds like Kate had a good attitude about it, and it's clear she's had a long history of taking risks for her roles.
Author's note: Kate Winslet is known for her dedication to her craft, and this tattoo is just one example of how far she's willing to go to get into character.
