Observe Introduces Two AI Agents to Enhance Observability

Observe has expanded its observability platform by adding two AI agents aimed at helping DevOps teams automate incident investigations and improve debugging efficiency.

AI SRE Agent for Site Reliability Engineers

The AI SRE Agent is designed primarily for site reliability engineers (SREs). It autonomously uses context from the Observe platform to identify root causes and suggest solutions, accelerating issue resolution.

o11y.ai Agent for Developers

The o11y.ai agent assists developers by automatically generating the OpenTelemetry code required for instrumentation. It also allows developers to use natural language queries to analyze usage, errors, and performance, as well as debug and verify fixes based on telemetry data and code structure.

Underlying Technology

Both AI agents utilize a graph and Model Context Protocol (MCP) server embedded in the Observe platform. This server, originally developed by Anthropic, facilitates AI agents to discover and query data effectively.

"The MCP server makes it possible for developers using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Augment Code, Windsurf and n8n to access the telemetry data aggregated in the Observe platform."

These enhancements empower DevOps and development teams to work smarter and faster by leveraging AI-driven automation and natural language processing.

Author's summary: Observe’s new AI-powered agents automate observability tasks by providing faster incident analysis for SREs and code instrumentation plus debugging support for developers.
