Bev Edwards has been a volunteer at the Goulburn Options Go Again Op Shop for 35 years. For her, it’s a story woven with family, legacy, and community spirit.
The origins of the shop go back to Bev’s mother and a group of local parents who each had children with disabilities. Together, they created what would later become a central community initiative.
“It’s a long history going back,” Ms Edwards said. “There were a lot of people who started it off.”
Over the years, the shop moved several times and changed names before finally settling as Go Again, near its current spot on Anzac Avenue in Seymour. Today, it supports Goulburn Options and its essential community programs while offering participants the opportunity to gain retail experience.
Bev’s long-standing involvement with the shop honors her mother’s work and her late brother Barry, who had Down syndrome.
“I’ve always thought of Mum, Mum and Barry,” she said.
For 35 years, Bev Edwards has carried forward her family’s devotion to inclusion and community through steadfast volunteer work at the Go Again Op Shop.
