New Jersey Devils center Cody Glass returned to the lineup Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens, while forward Connor Brown remained sidelined due to injury.
Glass had missed seven games after being injured in October. The 26-year-old made an immediate impact, scoring an unassisted goal just 1:53 into the first period, giving the Devils an early advantage.
During the second period, defenseman Dougie Hamilton left the ice with a lower-body injury only four and a half minutes into the frame. He did not return for the remainder of the game.
The Devils eventually secured a 4–3 overtime victory over Montreal at the Prudential Center.
“Hamilton will be evaluated Friday,” head coach Keefe said following the game.
Author’s summary: Cody Glass marked his return to the Devils lineup with a quick goal in a 4–3 overtime win, while Dougie Hamilton’s new injury darkened the team’s victory.
