Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance Day

TransLink will honor veterans and active military personnel this Remembrance Day by offering free transit on Tuesday, November 11. This gesture recognizes their service and sacrifice.

Eligible Customers

Free transit is available to:

Those eligible can present a badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or wear their uniform to qualify. Veterans and others eligible do not have to tap their Compass Card on buses and HandyDART trips. At SkyTrain and SeaBus stations, an accessible fare gate will stay open from 8 a.m.

Additional Observances

TransLink also acknowledges National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8. This day honors Indigenous veterans and their contributions to peace and security worldwide.

The Royal Canadian Legion will distribute poppies by donation at transit hubs across Metro Vancouver.

Customers are encouraged to use transit when attending Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout the region.

Holiday Fare Reminder

Holiday fares will apply to all other customers on Tuesday, November 11.
