PHOENIX – After being sidelined by a right hamstring strain, guard Jalen Green made his long-awaited debut for the Phoenix Suns on Thursday when they faced the Los Angeles Clippers. The 23-year-old joined the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant trade during the 2025 offseason.
Green, who averaged 20.1 points per game over four seasons with the Houston Rockets, missed the entire preseason and the first eight regular-season games before returning to the court. His arrival completes the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to Houston, with Phoenix also receiving Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 overall pick used to draft Khaman Maluach.
Since joining the team, Green has embraced his new environment and quickly built chemistry with teammates and staff.
“Coming here, I got to know the team, and I picked up with everybody very fast. Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. From the coaching staff to the players to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast.”
Despite not playing in a Suns uniform prior to this game, Green said he feels comfortable and optimistic about his fit within the organization, both on and off the court.
