Santa Monica was exactly what my daughter and I needed to deepen our mother-daughter connection. From choosing accommodations to dining options and incredible sights, here is my honest review.
In my blended family of five children, my husband and I created a tradition: when each child turns 15, they get to choose a trip with the parent of their choice. My stepchildren had visited New York and Venice with my husband, so it was my daughter's turn. She had long wanted to visit California.
Although we had only a week, we packed a lot into our trip. We spent the first part of the week in Los Angeles, exploring the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios, Warner Studios, the Griffith Observatory, and Beverly Hills. We walked an average of 15,000 steps a day—many spent searching for "звезду Зака Эфрона"!
After LA, we visited Disney and then headed to a more relaxed Santa Monica. We quickly fell in love with Santa Monica; my daughter wants to move there when she’s older, and I would happily visit often if she does. The city’s transport links are excellent, and with the 2028 Olympics coming, improvements are planned.
We stayed at the Pierside Hotel, located right by the pier, as its name suggests. The hotel embodies Santa Monica’s vibrant culture, featuring a large, funky mural on the exterior and a stylish, seaside-inspired interior with a modern touch.
"We averaged 15,000 steps a day, although a huge chunk of those were gained looking for Zac Efron's star!"
Author’s summary: Santa Monica offers a perfect blend of vibrant culture, convenient transport, and family-friendly attractions, making it ideal for creating lasting mother-daughter memories.
