Predator Director Proposes Sequel Idea for Kevin Costner's Sci-Fi Epic
Dan Trachtenberg, director known for reviving the Predator franchise, shared his vision for the next project he would like to tackle: a sequel to the divisive 1995 film Waterworld starring Kevin Costner.

Speaking at the Predator: Badlands premiere, Trachtenberg explained how he would prefer to see Waterworld continue its story not through a traditional movie, but as a video game.
"The thing about Waterworld that I want to see is a video game," Trachtenberg said. "I want to see an open-world third-person action-adventure video game that is not a remake of the movie, but is a sequel to the movie. That's what I want to see."
