In 2026, India and France will jointly celebrate the Year of India-France Innovation to strengthen cooperation between startups, researchers, and innovators. The initiative aims to deepen technological ties while encouraging balanced growth between creativity and regulation.
Both nations have underscored a common commitment to ethical and culturally inclusive AI. They stress the importance of creating systems that reflect the diversity and values of their societies.
“AI must represent the richness of diverse cultures while respecting human values,” said Anne Bouverot, France’s Special Envoy for Artificial Intelligence.
Bouverot noted that current AI models often contain cultural biases and highlighted her role in organizing the AI Action Summit in France. She is also participating in the planning of the upcoming India-AI Impact Summit scheduled for February 2026.
Announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the India-AI Impact Summit will take place in New Delhi from February 19–20, 2026. This event will mark the first global AI summit held in the Global South, symbolizing a significant step in expanding inclusive participation in technological development.
