Danish toy maker LEGO introduced its first Star Trek set as part of the Icons series, featuring the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D from the "The Next Generation" series. This ship is famous for serving Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew.
The NCC-1701-D was the fifth Federation starship to bear the Enterprise name (sixth if including the NX-01 from the "Enterprise" prequel). It was destroyed in the film "Star Trek: Generations," but fans can now bring it back home in LEGO form.
The set is designed not only as a display model but can also be taken apart to allow imaginative play, ideal for adult fans who want to recreate missions in their living rooms.
"This week, the Danish toymaker announced the launch of the LEGO Icons Star Trek: USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D set, made in partnership with Paramount Products & Experiences."
The new LEGO set fulfills a long-awaited dream for Star Trek enthusiasts and collectors alike.
