The Sudanese Prime Minister condemned the crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia in the city of El Fasher and warned that if this group is not controlled, the conflict could extend to nearby countries.
Kamel Idriss, the Prime Minister of Sudan, declared that the country's army remains strong and will not tolerate any colonial forces on its soil. Speaking to Al Jazeera, he emphasized the need for legitimacy in controlling El Fasher, stating that the militias led by Mohammed Hamdan Daqlo lack both national and international legitimacy.
Idriss condemned the Rapid Support Forces for their brutal actions, saying they are incapable of governance and responsible for killing innocent children and women.
"The Rapid Support Forces are incapable of governing; they kill children and women in cold blood."
He stressed that the group's control over El Fasher is meaningless given the massacres they commit.
The Prime Minister urged that these rebel militias be classified as terrorist organizations due to the severe threat they pose not only to Sudan but also to neighboring countries.
"These rebel militias should be classified as terrorist groups, because their danger is not limited to Sudan."
The Sudanese Prime Minister warned that unchecked militia violence in El Fasher could escalate the conflict regionally, calling for urgent measures against these groups to prevent wider instability.
