The global girl group KATSEYE, whose popularity soared this year, has earned nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammy Awards. This marks a major milestone in their fast-rising career.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal,” the group shared.
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
KATSEYE joins a strong lineup of contenders for Best New Artist, including Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, announced the category during the Grammys nomination livestream on Friday morning.
The past year has been one of transformation for KATSEYE. Their story first caught attention through the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which followed their evolution from aspiring singers to international performers. The group was originally formed through Dream Academy, a YouTube-based competition launched by Hybe and Geffen Records to create the first truly global girl group.
KATSEYE celebrates their first Grammy nominations, reflecting on their remarkable rise from online competition winners to global pop icons.
