David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is now available for ticket purchase. The revival stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha.
Proof will be performed at the Booth Theatre beginning March 31, 2026, with an official opening on April 16. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Thomas Kail.
The story centers on Catherine (played by Edebiri), the gifted but unsettled daughter of famed mathematician Robert (played by Cheadle). After Robert’s death, a notebook containing a groundbreaking mathematical proof is found, sparking debate over who really wrote it. Catherine faces the challenges of legacy and the pressure to prove herself.
Baseline Theatrical is serving as the general manager for the production.
Proof first premiered off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before transferring to Broadway. It earned six Tony Award nominations and won three, including Best Play, as well as the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
