The Is Arutas campsite in Cabras has suffered a major theft. Several items, including refrigerators, wardrobes, two electric minicars, and a wooden pergola, have disappeared from the facility.
Stefania Musiu, manager of Spinnaker Service—company previously operating the campsite—filed a complaint with the Carabinieri. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
The campsite had been closed for months after the Municipality of Cabras terminated its contract with Spinnaker Service on February 27th for serious breaches. The concession was revoked on May 13th and the site permanently shut down at the end of June.
“Since then, the campground and all its assets have been taken into the custody of the Municipality,” explained Riccardo Crovi, lawyer for Spinnaker Service.
After several requests, company representatives were finally allowed to enter the site at the end of July to remove their property. During that visit, documents were taken and all assets were carefully inspected.
“We entered on August 27th and nothing was missing,” Crovi stated.
Stefania Musiu and her attorney only managed to return to the premises last Thursday, after repeated appeals for access.
“We noted the theft of many valuable items; the Carabinieri of Cabras and representatives of the Municipality were also with us,” the lawyer added.
