Flinders Port Holdings floats into Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings Debuts Custom-Built Float at Adelaide Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) has unveiled a specially designed float to celebrate the significance of maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. The event, marking the festive season's start, begins at 9:30am on Saturday, 8 November, with thousands gathering along the streets.

The Role of Maritime Trade in Festive Celebrations

FPH emphasized their float’s focus on highlighting maritime trade’s critical role in delivering festive joy and presents to South Australians each year.

“Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts.”

The design includes a blue fabric ruffle that simulates water, giving the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding through the sea.

Launch Event

The float was officially launched at Outer Harbor earlier this week, with several FPH elves participating in the celebrations and adding festive cheer.

Historical Significance of the Christmas Pageant

Since 1933, the Christmas Pageant has been the traditional way to commence the Christmas season in South Australia, attracting people of all ages.

FPH expressed their excitement on social media: “We are thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float.”
